Soldier Sleeping

Sleep and rest were incredibly important, especially for soldiers on the front lines, so that they could stay alert and efficient. However, getting sleep was harder than it sounded. Lots of soldiers wouldn't have been able to sleep at night, since that was often when the fighting would take place, meaning that they would've had to sleep (not very well) during the day. Sometimes soldiers would sleep in "dug-outs", although that wasn't always the case.
